The Café, situated by the shop and entrance to the museum, offers visitors a place to relax in the historic grade I listed Georgian warehouse. Distinctly homely, with comfortable furniture and warm soft colours, the café is a truly welcoming family destination.
Locally sourced, seasonal produce is a strong feature of the café menus. Indulge in warm piadinas, paninis and deli sandwiches, with fillings such as salt beef, sliced gherkin and watercress with homemade piccalilli. A daily homemade fresh vegetable soup served with fresh bread straws is also available, as well as fresh salads with a range of accompaniments, such as sliced Parma ham and honey and lemon roasted gammon.
Also on offer is an assortment of delicious pastries, from croissants to homemade cakes, muffins and flapjacks, as well as lighter alternatives such as granola, Swiss muesli and fruit pots. These are accompanied by a choice of freshly squeezed juices, a selection of smoothies, Twinings teas, and 100% sustainable and ethically sourced coffee from the Rainforest Alliance.
Pirate lunchboxes are a great choice for children. They include a selection of fruit, sandwiches, raw vegetables with dips, farmhouse cheeses and special treats such as ‘pirate’ cookies or chocolate.
